PacketStorm Communications® announced today the release of their PacketStorm6XG IP Network Emulator. Typical applications for the PacketStorm6XG include storage (back-up and disaster recovery), multimedia transmission (voice, video, and data), and enterprise (MAN and WAN).

The PacketStorm6XG joins a family of IP network emulators: PacketStorm400E, PacketStorm1800E, PacketStorm2600E, Hurricane II, Hurricane III, and PacketStorm4XG. PacketStorm IP network emulators have been the industry leaders for the past twelve years. PacketStorm6XG is designed for multiple Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet applications.

The PacketStorm6XG provides all of the core WAN impairments with a user friendly graphical interface. The PacketStorm6XG is the second generation of FPGA designed IP network emulators able to process multiple Gigabit and 10 Gigabit Ethernet at line rate for all packets sizes. In fact, the PacketStorm6XG can be configured up to (6) 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Unique features such as active video, FEC aware, and hitless emulation provides a complete network simulation for video transport applications.
