This video demonstrates how easy it is to use our Hurricane 5 WAN Emulator.
The first step is to click on the link indicator icon at the top. This opens the link editor. The top half of the editor contains filters, where you can select IP addresses or simply choose “All Frames” to filter everything coming in. In this example, all traffic through port A is filtered.
The impairments section is at the bottom. You can select impairments such as delay and drop, input their values, and hit OK. This sets up a link with a filter on all frames and impairments for drop and delay.
To start the emulation, click the start button. The GUI is very easy to use. To stop the test, simply hit stop.
You can also save the configuration. For example, name it “one.” To recall a saved emulation, go to the library, select a stored configuration such as “demo A,” and all previously stored settings will be restored. Click start emulation to begin again.
