VIP Monitor - Media over IP
A prominent broadcast engineer has praised the PacketStorm VIP Monitor as the “best tool that he has in his toolbox for monitoring and troubleshooting ST 2110 networks”. The VIP Monitor is utilized by ST 2110 equipment developers and broadcast engineers, including major broadcasters in their ST 2110 Proof of Concept (POC) and Live network.
Besides ST 2110, the VIP supports IPMX as well. All IPMX measurements mandated by the IPMX standard are supported including: TR-10-2, TR-10-11, and TR-10-3.

Media Monitor
The VIP Monitor is NMOS controlled and can concurrently measure and monitor up to 122 flows of PTP, video, audio, and ancillary data over 10Gbps/25Gbps/100Gbps interfaces. Alarm-triggered packet captures are available 24/7, and a timeline shows the status of all flows with green indicating good status and red lines indicating alarm events. Clicking on an alarm event displays the type of alarm, location of error in the packet capture, and the dissected packet capture that can be downloaded for further analysis. Captured packets before and after alarm events allow users to understand what happened before, during, and after the alarm event.
The VIP Monitor measures SMPTE ST 2110-21 (Professional Media Over Managed IP Networks: Traffic Shaping and Delivery Timing for Video), SMPTE RP 2110-25 (Professional Media Over Managed IP Networks: Measurement Practices), SMPTE ST 2022-7 (Seamless Protection Switching of SMPTE ST 2022 IP Datagrams) and IPMX TR-10-2, TR-10-11, and TR-10-3.
