What is ST 2022 and ST 2110?

ST 2022

ST 2022 is a standard developed by the Society of Motion Pictures & Television Engineers (SMPTE) to transport video flows over IP networks. In particular ST 2022 is the means to transport Serial Digital Interface signals (audio, video, ancillary data) over an IP network. An important aspect of the standard is using Forward Error Correction to recover any small packet loss that may occur when transporting the flow. The standard is published in seven parts.

ST 2110

ST 2110 is a standard developed by the Society of Motion Pictures & Television Engineers (SMPTE) to transport individual signals (audio, video, ancillary data) with synchronization information over IP networks. ST 2110 uses the timing mechanism specified by ST 2059 to distribute time and timebase to every device in the network.
